Minimos, datils, guineos, bananos…
Call them whatever you want. But they are my new favorite snack/cooking ingredient. They taste just like regular bananas but so much sweeter because they have nearly the same amount of fructose (sugar) condensed into this cute little pocket-size version.
There is an old woman who walks door-to-door in our neighborhood selling giant bunches of these. She came by yesterday and all I had were four lempira in my pocket so that’s what I gave her. And in return she gave me about 25 of these little guys. That’s about 21 cents for 4 pounds of delicious banana-y goodness.
My favorite way to eat ‘em? Frozen and dipped in chocolate!!!
