An event planed by Brent in his site to celebrate World Water Day which is held annually on March 22. He worked with the Municipality and local schools to plan an awareness march through town followed by an educational event in the central park.
I came to Negrito to help out in the best way I know how: moral support and taking lots of pictures.

The overall theme for this year was The Importance of Microcuencas, (micro-watersheds – you can read the technical explanation here).

Around 250 students from local private schools participated. [Public school teachers are on strike...again].

Happy World Water Day everyone. Congrats to Brent, Nancy and Municipality of Negrito for a successful (and educational) event!
As you go throughout your day today, making your coffee and taking your [hot] shower, remember that you are lucky. Clean running water is a luxury that most people in this world do not have. From my experience, it’s not until you have had to haul your own bathwater, boil your own drinking water, or perhaps have gotten sick from the running water in your own house that you truly appreciate its value.
Paz y amor todos.
